Steve Clair has been providing individuals, families, groups, and businesses with quality health insurance since 1994. He began his insurance career with Mutual of New York and Massachusetts Mutual Life, two well known, diversified financial services companies. It was during this period of time, that Steve found out how important it was to protect the health and assets of American families. He became an independent broker in 1996 as a way of offering more services to his clients. Although he had worked with two industry leaders, he was unable to offer his clients the best that the marketplace had to offer. As one whose predisposition is to advocate for others, Steve needed the independence and freedom to help others totally free of any limitations from companies which only allowed him to use their limited products.

Steve was born and raised in St. Petersburg, Florida. He attended St. Jude's Parochial School, Boca Ciega High School and St. Petersburg Junior College. After finishing school, he joined his father's bakery distributorship company and started on the job as a route salesman. When his father was ready to retire, Steve was ready for a different challenge, and they sold the business. Steve took a sales position with a frozen food manufacturer, and eventually became National Sales Manager. He managed 4 Regional Managers, and 42 broker organizations in 30 states. Tiring of the constant travel and looking to broaden his professional horizons, Steve found a passion for helping individuals and families through financial services. That was when he joined Mutual of New York in Atlanta.

He has been married for 25 years to wife, Lee, a paralegal supervisor for the law firm of Morris, Schneider, & Prior in Atlanta. They have 4 daughters and are proud grandparents to two granddaughters and one grandson.

As an active member of the community, Steve currently serves on the Smyrna Business Association Board of Directors, and was its president during 2003 and 2004. He also serves on the Board of Directors for The Dream Factory of Georgia and is a Trustee of The Foundation of Emory-Adventist Hospital at Smyrna, an active member of the Smyrna Optimist Club, and a member of the National Association of Health Underwriters.

In 1999, Steve established Metro Benefits Group in order to offer affordable health insurance to individuals, families and groups. MBG offered a choice a choice of carriers, as well as continuing to serve his clients with their best interest in mind. MBG transformed into his current company, American Insurance Experts, which now represents over 200 insurance carriers. Whereas the name of his firm has changed, Steve continues to hold his value proposition as quality insurance at affordable prices. His office is located in downtown Smyrna at: 300 Village Green Circle.

Hobbies

When Steve is not helping his customers or serving on one of
his many community boards or attending civic events,
you may find him playing baseball in the West metro Atlanta
Senior League. He also enjoys golf. His other passion is
scuba diving, but this thirty five year old
hobby takes a back seat since he no
longer lives on the
Florida coast.
